Honda Africa Twin 2025:- When it comes to adventure motorcycles, few names hold as much respect as the Honda Africa Twin. Born from Honda’s long legacy of Dakar Rally racing, the Africa Twin has evolved into one of the most capable and versatile adventure bikes on the market today. It perfectly blends power, comfort, and ruggedness—making it a favorite among long-distance riders and off-road explorers alike.
A Legacy of Adventure
The Africa Twin first gained fame in the late 1980s with the legendary XRV650, a motorcycle directly inspired by Honda’s Dakar-winning machines. Over the years, it built a reputation for durability and reliability, even in the harshest terrains. The modern CRF1100L Africa Twin continues that spirit while embracing cutting-edge technology.
Engine and Performance
At the heart of the current Africa Twin lies a 1,084cc parallel-twin engine, tuned for strong low-end torque and smooth power delivery. This makes it equally at home cruising on highways or tackling rocky trails. Riders can choose between a traditional manual gearbox or Honda’s innovative Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), which allows seamless gear changes without the need for a clutch lever.
Built for Every Terrain
One of the Africa Twin’s greatest strengths is its balance between road comfort and off-road capability. With long-travel suspension, a tall stance, and a lightweight frame for its size, it handles gravel, sand, and mud with confidence. The Adventure Sports ES variant adds even more touring comfort, featuring a larger fuel tank, electronic suspension, and enhanced wind protection.
Technology and Features
Modern riders demand advanced features, and the Africa Twin delivers. It comes equipped with riding modes, traction control, ABS with off-road settings, wheelie control, and cruise control. A bright 6.5-inch TFT touchscreen supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keeping riders connected while exploring the world.
Comfort for the Long Haul
Honda designed the Africa Twin to go the distance. The upright riding position, adjustable seat height, and ergonomically placed handlebars ensure comfort during long hours in the saddle. Whether it’s a cross-country road trip or a ride deep into the wilderness, the Africa Twin makes the journey feel effortless.
This voluntary recall announced by Honda is limited to Africa Twin ADVs manufactured in around a six year time frame from 2019 to 2025. All units manufactured within this time frame are eligible to avail replacement of affected parts from Honda’s authorised service centres for free. In India, BigWing Topline dealerships will ensure the replacement of affected parts. Honda has revealed that this is a precautionary recall and the replacement of parts will be done irrespective of warranty status of said motorcycle. The company has not disclosed an exact number of affected vehicles that were manufactured between 2019 and 2025.
Final thought
The Honda Africa Twin isn’t just a motorcycle—it’s a passport to adventure. With its mix of power, reliability, and advanced technology, it appeals to riders who dream of going beyond the horizon. Whether on city streets, open highways, or rugged trails, the Africa Twin proves why it continues to be one of the most iconic adventure bikes in the world.
